New High-Field MAGNETOM Espree MRI at our DIS Office

Associated Radiologists, P.A. in partnership with Antietam Health Services is pleased to announce the placement of a new high-field Siemens MAGNETOM Espree MRI unit in Diagnostic Imaging Services office, Suite 204, Robinwood Medical Center, Hagerstown, Maryland. This unit is the area’s first open bore 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging system. This system contains a bore larger than traditional MRI units, nearly 2.3 feet in diameter, with the ability to capture high-field quality diagnostic images. The Espree also features the shortest 1.5 Tesla magnets available. Similar in length to a CT unit, the magnet allows for more than 60% of the exams to be completed with the patient’s head outside the bore, which assists in easing patient claustrophobia. The patient-friendly design of the Espree improves patient comfort and enables DIS to provide high-quality MRI to larger patients and claustrophobic patients.
